Author & Publications

Alongside my work as a clinical psychologist, I write fiction and non-fiction exploring trauma, adaptation, relationships and parts-informed ideas. These publications are produced separately from my clinical work at myMHC and are not psychological treatment or self-help materials.

Fragments of Asterion:
The Mind Is the Last Frontier

A psychological science fiction novel following ten survivors aboard an isolated spacecraft navigating deep space and profound isolation. The narrative delves into themes of psychological trauma, adaptation, interpersonal relationships, parts-informed and IFS-informed themes. Written as an immersive story, it uses the spacecraft and its crew to explore psychological adaptation under extreme adversity.

Fragments of Asterion: Beneath the Hull

This non-fiction companion volume examines the psychological frameworks underpinning the novel. It explores protective mechanisms, parts-informed concepts, trauma responses, relational dynamics, and internal integration. Designed to be reflective and analytical, it invites readers to explore the conceptual design behind the fiction rather than offering self-help advice or clinical instruction.

Fragments of Asterion:
The Final Convergence

The third and final book in the Fragments of Asterion Collection is currently in development.

Exploring the books

The Fragments of Asterion books are published separately through Mirror House Chronicles. You can learn more about the books, read samples and find purchase links for your region through the dedicated Fragments of Asterion website.

For current clients: Your psychologist may occasionally mention one of these books when its themes are relevant to work already being undertaken in therapy. If a book is considered clinically appropriate as an optional resource alongside therapy, you will not be expected to purchase it. A copy will be provided free of charge. Choosing not to read or use the book will not affect your access to, or the quality of, your psychological care.

Disclosure: Julie-Anne Peake is the author of these publications and receives royalties from their sale.
